1.What is Power Delivery?
Power Delivery (PD) charging is a fast charging protocol designed to be a more universal charging standard that would allow a range of devices, not just smartphones, to charge quickly over a USB connection. One of the primary motivations behind the development of USB PD was to seamlessly share chargers and even power. The goal is to reduce e-waste in the future by removing the need for multiple chargers with various charging outputs for different products.
2.How to determine if a phone is Power Delivery compatible?
You can check if your phone supports PD in the manual. The devices that support PD charging include the iPhone X/iPhone 8 Plus/iPhone 8, Samsung Galaxy S9/S9 Plus/S8/S8 Plus, iPad Pro 12.9/Pro 10.5, Google Pixel/Pixel XL/Pixel 2/Pixel 2 XL, Nexus 5X/6P, Lumia 950/950XL, Nokia 8, and more. Even if you are not sure whether your devices support PD or not, the advanced IC chip inside the charger will automatically detect and deliver the optimal charging power for connected devices up to 18W, keeping your phone charged throughout the day.
3.Why isn’t my phone charging fast?
In order to know if your phone is fast-charging compatible, please confirm the following:
— Your device supports Power Delivery (PD)
— Your charger supports Power Delivery (PD)
— You’re using Apple’s original (PD compatible) USB-C to lightning cord
— Your device supports Quick Charge 3.0
