1. Do you really need to buy the new iPhone?

2. When is the best time to buy a new iPhone 11?

3. Should you buy an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max?

4. What color should you buy a new iPhone in?

5. Prepare screen protectors & protective cases for iPhone 11.

6. Finally, what do you do with your old phone?

7. Exclusive discount for iPhone 11 accessories.

We are now mere weeks away from the rumored release date of the new iPhone 11. As with every release, the rumor mill is going strong with exciting leaks every few weeks. Tech reviewers are on the edges of their seats eagerly waiting to see what magic Apple conjures up this year, and people have started saving up in preparation for the September 2019 event.

But before you open your wallets to buy the new iPhone 11, you should consider these 6 questions.

1. Do you really need to buy the new iPhone?

Let’s get this out of the way. To the tech enthusiasts and loyal Apple fans out there, we know this is going to fall on deaf ears. You’ll be there in line on opening day, eager to be the first to buy the new iPhone 11, and nothing we say will change that.

If you’re a dedicated Android user, chances are, the new features will not excite you enough to make the switch to iOS and buy a new iPhone.

For the fence-sitter, the casual admirer of the Apple aesthetic, the average iPhone user who is due for an upgrade, we say the iPhone 11 is still worth checking out to see what’s new in tech these days.

We’ve heard that one of the biggest upgrades to the new iPhone 11 is the triple-lens rear camera on the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max (or dual-lens on more affordable iPhone 11). The third lens will be an ultra-wide-angle lens, and the camera will come with a new “Smart Frame” feature that captures the area around a photo or video, giving users the ability to adjust framing and perspective after-the-fact. The front camera will also be upgraded from 7 to 12 megapixels. These changes will appeal to photography enthusiasts and influencers who use their phones as their main workhorse.

It has been rumored that Apple is also taking a leaf out of Samsung’s book by including a bi-directional wireless charging feature similar to Samsung’s PowerShare. Those invested in the Apple ecosystem will be able to wirelessly charge their Apple Watch and AirPods using their new iPhone 11. This probably means a larger and longer-lasting battery for the new iPhone 11.

2. When is the best time to buy a new iPhone 11?

Unless you’re a faithful iPhone supporter, we have a word of advice before the hype tornado hits. If you don’t absolutely need to get the new iPhone 11 when it drops, we think you’d be wise to wait out the initial fervor.

While it may be hard to watch your friends and family obsessing over their latest purchase, it’s always risky to buy a new iPhone right after it’s released. Not to mention that prices are always higher closer to the release date.

Wait until the professional tech reviewers have had their say and the first batch of user reviews are in. This way you’ll know if there are any egregious or recurring hardware or software problems with the phone. If there are problems, what is being done about it?

Think about the overheating fiasco from Samsung and the iPhone X’s “green line of death”.

Shortly after the launch of the iPhone X, some users discovered green lines on the edge of their screens that Apple’s updates couldn’t fix. While Apple did eventually solve the problem and offered free replacement phones to affected users, it was unnecessary grief that dampened the spirits of early iPhone X adopters.

Sometimes it pays to wait. If only to avoid the hassle of returns and exchanges after you’ve already transferred all your data to the new iPhone.

Monitor news on the iPhone 11 on tech forums, social media, and news outlets. Set up a Google alert. If you’re going to be shelling out serious money to buy an iPhone 11, make sure it works as it should out of the box.

3. Should you buy an iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro or iPhone 11 Pro Max?

So you’ve decided to pull the trigger. Except, which iPhone should you go for? While the exact model names and hardware specifications have yet to be confirmed, there is speculation and agreement from various Apple watchers on the size and dimensions of the three iPhone 11 models.

Size-wise, the iPhone 11 Pro Max will reportedly measure 157.6 x 77.5 x 8.1 mm, compared to the iPhone XS Max at 157.5 x 77.4 x 7.7 mm. The smaller iPhone 11 Pro is expected to measure in at 143.9 x 71.4 x 7.8 mm – slightly larger and thicker than the iPhone XS’s 143.6 x 70.9 x 7.7 mm – and the new triple camera setup will likely add 1.2mm to the iPhone 11 Pro’s thickness.

The dimensions of the iPhone 11 should largely remain the same as their 2018 counterparts, with 5.8-inch and 6.5-inch OLED screens for the iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max respectively, while the iPhone 11 will likely sport a 6.1-inch LCD screen

4. What color should you buy a new iPhone in?

You may scoff, but if you’re sinking that much money into a phone, it should be one that you love from all angles, in every way. The phone should accentuate your personality and fit your sense of style.

Based on the latest rumors, you will be able to buy an iPhone 11 in dark green. Given Apple’s record, we’re sure it will be a head-turner. Still, if you’re iffy about sporting a green phone, you can always use a dark green case on your new iPhone. This would allow you to easily change the way your iPhone looks if you get tired of it.

5. Prepare screen protectors & protective cases for iPhone 11

If you tend to fall on the clumsy side of things, AppleCare might be a necessity for you. It may seem pricey now but it’ll pay for itself if you have your phone stolen or accidentally smash that rear glass panel with the built-in triple-lens camera. Note that you usually only have 30 to 60 days (depending on where you live) after purchasing your new iPhone to decide if you want to add on AppleCare.

On top of AppleCare, tempered-glass screen protectors and sturdy, protective cases are practically a must today when you buy a new iPhone. It just makes good sense. A good iPhone case is inexpensive, protects the resale value of your phone, and goes a long way to make sure your phone looks good for as long as you have it.

When it comes to phone cases, you’d be hard-pressed to find a brand that offers better value than ESR. ESR has sold literally millions of phone cases, and that’s just on Amazon alone. That’s how you know they’re serious about phone protection.

They’ve come up with new ways to combat the yellowing of TPU cases, and their effort shows in the number of satisfied, returning customers. Solid, reliable products at competitive prices. With different cases for the working professional, college student, or Netflix addict, when you buy the iPhone 11, their range of iPhone 11 protective cases should definitely be on your radar.

6. Finally, what do you do with your old phone?

If you’ve kept your old phone in good condition, you might be able to get some credit for it with Apple Trade-In. Apple offers you store credit or a gift card for future purchases. Unfortunately, this only applies to newer models of the iPhone. If you have an older iPhone model or if store credit doesn’t appeal to you, check out the secondhand market to see how much your phone can go for.

Otherwise, just keep your old phone to use as a spare. It could come in handy in an emergency or if you ever need to send your new phone for repairs.
